Hi Kris. Unfortunately, I am starting to think these wheels are simply failing in different ways. Iaroslav hasn't posted yet to confirm whether his wheel has started working, but in my case after disassembling and reassembling the wheel several times (see photos below), I still can't get it to...
Hi again Iaroslav. I replied in a new thread, since this one has diverged quite a bit from the original topic. Please reply there once you get the chance -- I'm looking forward to know if your wheel has indeed started worked normally again. Thanks again for the details and encouragement!
Ok so here are some notes and images that hopefully may help others facing the same problem.
First of all: there's an official video by FlyFly showing how to take the sprocket out, which is enough to expose the part of the wheel we're interested in looking at. It's hosted at vimeo: FlyKly How...
Hi all. I am starting this as a new thread to make it easier to find. Previous discussion happened in this thread (with Iaroslav Timofeev), and I suspect this other thread (with LdnJon and Maurizio) is also related.
If your wheel has suddenly stopped working but still turns the lights on /...
Hi again Iaroslav :) I'm really glad you managed to make it work. When I wrote my last message above, I also sent FlyKly an email to support, but after the first response, they never said anything else, so I'll definitely try to fix it myself shortly. It makes sense for the issue to be pieces...
Hi Iaroslav. Sorry I never got around to reply to your post. I'm wondering what you ended up doing. Answering your question, the wheel can't exactly be easily disassembled to send just the hub, so I sent them the whole thing, rim included. (I suppose they would have been able to fix the hub if I...
Glad to hear it's working, but I suspect the issue might resurface later on. Hopefully their new focus on improving customer service will make such occurrences less stressful for owners.
Not exactly what you're asking, but I initially configured the wheel for the medium number of teeth on my bike and 100% assist, and later swapped gears (on the bike only) to use the larger number of teeth and dropped the assist in the app to 70%; the first change was to allow me to pedal to go...
Hi LdnJon,
I'm sorry to hear about that. My own wheel failed right away (I posted about that in this thread) and I had to send it back to them for repair. The process was a bit slow (several days of back-and-forth messages attempting to diagnose the issue, and about a month for the actual...
Hi all,
It's been too long since I last wrote -- I should have written an update a while ago, but life got in the way. Anyway, here's a final update: I ended up sending them the wheel back at the start of November. They repaired it (with the usual slow service and few updates), and sent back to...
Ok, after a few days of different experiments, having some friends try the wheel (all of them saying they couldn't feel a difference) and some back-and-forth with FlyKly support, they're telling me it's likely a defective pedal sensor, and will send me a new one which I can replace myself or do...
FWIW, my bike is a multi-speed and the chain fit the FlyKly sprocket without problems. The different chain size could be something specific to the US (I'm in Europe).
That's very useful info, thanks! I'll test some more tomorrow, weather permitting, and will report back.
Unfortunately without the ability to connect to bluetooth whenever the speed is below 25 km/h (which seems to be the case merging your info and the experiments on my video) it is pretty much...
Thanks for the reply, Ablaze, and so sorry to hear about your bike :( :(
I made a video which may clarify some of these issues (due to the poor quality, I added annotations, so make sure to turn them on):
Basically, it looks like the wheel turns off immediately as soon as it gets below...
