I actually charge with the battery removed from the bicycle. Charger being too sensitive is a good theory. I wonder if there's a risk of damage to the battery...

Caveat: I swapped out my tires when I bought my bike, and I've never done a true calibration for the circumference setting in the computer. So it's possible my speedometer is slightly off.

Regarding the shift indicator: I went in for my tune-up today and after a firmware upgrade, I now have an option to turn on/off a shift indicator.

When I reduced my wheel size setting like you did, I noticed that the motor cut off at a lower speed. In my case 30 km/h instead of 32 km/h. I suspect it's to prevent people from using that as a hack to get increased speed before cutoff. Let me know if you see the same thing.
