Ah, thanks. I don't really know what I need because I don't have it and if I had it I wouldn't need it... lol
I'll email the bike shop guy about that but what I really need is a pick-a-part junkyard with old ebikes. Or maybe someone with one that could take a picture/measurement of the original...
There's a black metal spacer thing that goes on the axle between the hub and the dropout. I took my bike into a shop for repair and they lost it and I guess now the bike is unusable. They spent over a year bugging Currie about getting a replacement but eventually gave up. I figured I'd give...
I'd be happy to send you some but unfortunately mine are with my bike... which is in a repair shop which has been closed for 3 months. I got them fairly quickly from https://www.ebay.com/str/yojimbosgarage - make sure to buy the nipples too if you get them there cause the threading didn't match...
I'm interested. My main hope would be very durable rear wheel spokes. Both of the ebikes I've owned so far keep breaking spokes on the rear wheel and with a CVT you can't just replace a wheel. I've broken 8 spokes on my low speed ebike in the past 6 months and every time one breaks I have the...
I'm definitely interested. I have been looking for some time for a fast urban commuter bike with a belt drive and this seems to have everything I've been looking for. I've even looked into mag wheels since spoke problems and truing have been a regular issue for me on my ebikes but I didn't think...
That's funny - I was thinking the exact opposite thing. If it didn't have any suspension it would have almost everything on my wish list. I am looking for a commuter bike and I don't want to deal with shock maintenance. I also would prefer not to have an internally mounted battery.
That sounds...
That's kind of true but don't take it too literally. 48v is just kind of an "average" voltage and a fully charged "48v" battery will often be around 56v. Since I only charge my 52v battery to 54v (80% charge to extend life) I'm not even going outside of the normal 48v range. I did run it at 100%...
Luna seems to always be out of battery packs. They can't make them fast enough. Basically you have to watch the page every day and make an order as soon as whatever you want becomes available. Took me 6 weeks to get mine.
Also for what it's worth, the 52v batteries work great with the iZip too...
My 2013 Dash did that sort of thing. It would sometimes cut out for miles at a time. I don't know how many parts it shares with the new Dash construction (the older ones have a rear hub motor instead of the chain drive motor) but I would think it's something to do with the sensors in the...
My commute is very similar to yours (20 miles) and I ended up buying a 2nd battery on the theory that I'll need to buy another battery eventually either way. I stop after 10 miles and swap them out. After about 8000 miles I'm getting to the point where I run out of battery before 10 miles is up...
I would rather not have my ebike times posted under any account name as it seems unfair to people that care about those times to beat them all by cheating. I also know people that simply refuse to use Strava because of the leaderboards. I wish they'd let you opt out of them. Oh well, manually...
Keep in mind that the range indicator is not very reliable since it's just guessing at your charge based on external battery measurements. I paid a lot of attention to range numbers when I first got my bike and when riding I'd occasionally see the values jump all over the place but the real...
