Known Issues & Problems with Priority Bicycles Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

When a bunch of my rear wheel spokes had broken after a handful of rides, I was faced with the same issue. Priority acknowledges that their stock spokes are rubbish. So I bought some quality stainless ones of the correct length thru eBay, and spent a few days on YouTube learning (more about... I...

Although I'm mostly unable to hear that type of sound, I'd venture to say it's quite normal indeed. That would be the "clicking" made by ratcheting pawls in the drivetrain, kind of like you'd hear in an old 10-speed with a loud derailleur.

No doubt it is normal, so I'm glad you mentioned it. Full disclosure: I am largely deaf in the high-frequency sound range, so would never notice the noise myself. 🙃

Priority/Gates sanction higher tensions; in fact, they specifically advise off-road users in muddy conditions to raise the tension proactively (into the 50's, I believe) to prevent slippage and to assist with self-clearing debris. These belts are really robust, so I wouldn't worry about it. I've...

PEDAL STRIKES Due to the rather low road-to-pedal clearance on the Current (perhaps on step-thru bikes in general?), which is easily 1/2" less than my other bikes, I'm having to fine tune my pedal and/or spacer selection to avoid striking pavement in tight turns. Though I normally take pains...

Known Issues & Problems with Priority Bicycles Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Just in case anyone else is in the market for a folding lock that fits the (Large-size) Current's seat tube well, I got an Abus Bordo Combo 6100/90 from eBay that sits snugly and securely in that spot. Leaves my water bottle cage and drink bottle plenty of room in the down tube bracket. I'd...

Priority Current Shimano 5 speed - First impressions

I know a lot of devout MTB riders swear by "swept" handlebars, like the Jones Loop H-Bar shown in this list. But before you go that route, may I suggest further tweaking of (a) your handlebar rotation (so that grips are closest to your body position, and level), and (b) your seat (sliding it...

Priority Current Shimano 5 speed - First impressions

I'm surprised that the rotating stem in its almost vertical position wouldn't be high enough for nearly any rider, but I know for sure there are stem extensions out there that let you lift it up several more inches. Check on Amazon!

Today I finally checked and tensioned my Gates Carbon Drive belt. The Gates app on my phone indicated the starting tension was around "27", with recommended range being 35-50. What made me check it was that it skipped a tooth under heavy pedaling twice yesterday, and I didn't want that...

Yeah I know you are right about needing a new wheel but I've never built one with an ENVIOLO hub so am trying to milk the learning curve as long as I can first.

Priority Current - Instructions & Maintenance Videos

I normally would, too, except that (a) all of our local bike shops are booked several weeks out, (b) I'm a heavy rider who keeps breaking rear spokes (1-2 per ride), and (c) I don't want to sit idle for days just because of that. I'll continue replacing spokes as needed, but only need to...

Priority Current Shimano 5 speed - First impressions

I've been nothing short of impressed by the overall battery capacity on this bike. Word on the street is that it actually gets better the more you ride, as if there is some magical power curve balancing algorithm at play behind the scenes. I just rode 11 miles in (mostly) Assist Level 2, and...

Priority Current - Delivery & Assembly - Initial Feedback

I should have been more specific, sorry. The cutting is done into the fairly hard rubber outer end of the grip, which necessitates using either a utility knife or spade bit on a drill or something like that which can help you trace out a hole. The hole diameter need not match that of the...
