We ordered two bikes in late summer 2021 from Epic Cycles; a Metro and a Navigator. Both arrived with problems out of the box.
The Metro:
There was a slight rubbing noise on the front wheel.
I removed the fender and confirmed that the brake pads were rubbing.
I slightly loosened, but did not...
I'd love to get my mitts on one of these; established company, well rated and reasonably priced. But unfortunately, not available until March 2022. https://www.swagman.ca/collections/hitch-mount-racks/products/espec-rv-approved
My daughter got one of these for her bike. It seems very sturdy and flexible. You can probably find the same thing without the Pedego label for a few $ less. https://pedegoelectricbikes.ca/product/pedego-premium-phone-holder/
It can be difficult to pinpoint the exact source of any noise while riding. Does the Leisure have an adjustable handlebar stem? If so, check that the hex bolts are tight; the ones on my RX Pro came loose a couple of times and resulted in clicks and squeaks.
Congrats! You'll enjoy it. I was only able to get a few short rides on my Pro before the freeze set in but they seem to be great quality bikes for the price.
I've ridden both narrow (2-3") and fat (4"). Narrow "road tread" tires are definitely quieter and have less rolling resistance (swapped smoother tire for knobbies on my old non-E MTB years ago and there was a difference). I much prefer the fat tires on loose surfaces like gravel. The bike...
Just a couple of tips:
The quick release lever should leave an imprint in the heel of your palm when you clamp it; an old trick from my bike shop days. Also good to try to keep the lever parallel to the front fork or seat stays in the back to reduce chance that it will hook on something and...
One thing I forgot to mention on my first post is the excellent fit of the fenders. We have three other ebikes with front shock forks and the fenders on all three are “slap on, hope they work” with little clearance to the tires. I had to “modify” the one on my wife’s bike by bending some of...
Received my Pro on Oct 10 and assembled it that day. Some notes from assembly:
VERY well packed. I especially appreciated the wood block in the front fork and the block of foam wedged between the back wheel and fender. The block supported the bike while I installed the rear rack and handlebars...
Nice bike.
A little trick that I learned from the chief mechanic when I worked in the bike department of a sporting goods store. We found that we’d often damage decals or paint when bikes were clamped in the tuning stands, even with padded jaws.
Hank was an older Dutch gent who was trained...
