Like Shimano, SRAM has various levels of brakes to meet price points. I have not seen more issues with SRAM than any other brand.

Braking power and good modulation are not mutually exclusive. A proper braking setup has both.

That is a typical symptom of a derailleur hanger out of alignment. You may be able to tune some of it out, but I would check that first.

I have 2-finger M9200 XTR XC levers. It took one ride to get used to them. Most of the time, I only use one finger to brake.
