I loved riding bicycles, but I lost my right leg in an auto accident 10 years ago. I have an above the knee amputation which allows for a stable prosthesis, but I would be nervous riding a two-wheel bike because in "pedal" mode my prosthetic leg won't lock. I also do not have a lot of strength in my right leg, and some arthritis in my left knee, so I cannot pedal hard. I can pedal a bit but really need a trike that does most of the work for me. I also need a foot stirrup for the right leg because it drops off the pedal easily otherwise. I rarely drive more than ten miles from home, so an electric trike would do the trick for most trips. There are some nice bike trails in Metro Parks around Columbus, so it would be nice to be able to transport it by car, but I don't know how that could work. I am looking for lots of advice.
