I was asked this week whether I would replace my R&M with another one (just ticked over 15km, paint job on frame showing some wear and tear having been locked up to a range of different objects!)
A BIG draw card for me is Gates carbon belt drives and there doesn’t seem to be a heap of other...
Hit the 15,000km mark today, ironically biking back from the LBS where I bought the bike. I had gone to my "other" LBS where I get my gravel bike serviced to buy a Rohloff Oil change kit and had parked my SC2 out front - somehow it managed to fall over and the kickstand on the SC2 snapped in the...
not available in my part of the world either (New Zealand) - interesting to see a higher end eBike using a hub drive (based off the pics) vs a mid-drive with Bosch etc. Did that create quite a different feel when riding compared to your SuperDelite? I've only ever ridden a few cheap hub drive...
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the new looks either.
I helped my Dad look for a new eBike after his Specialized Como 4 was stolen recently.
He originally liekd the look of the Tern GSD but didn't like how it rode. He looked at a couple of the Benno eBikes before he settled on a R&M MultiCharger Mixte HS...
Oh that makes for an expensive trip! damn! I made sure to take my Garmin Edge 1040 and Garmin Varia off my bike before handing it over to the captain of the boat for racking!
I was riding out the peninsula to Portobello around 1-2pm, as I had to wait for 90mins for the 3:15pm ferry...
@Jay Kay I was in Dunedin on the weekend visiting my two girls studying down there, and on the 1yr anniversary of rupturing my quadriceps tendon I went for a big bike ride on my non-electric gravel bike. We were staying at a friend's house in Waitati so had to haul over Mt Cargill to start, then...
So I've spent 10mins getting MSFT's Copilot to try find my next eBike. I fed it this prompt:
and then told it what I like/don't like about my SC2:
After some back and forwards I got it to reformat all the suggestions based on those that support a Gates belt drive (my preference) and those that...
Thanks Lumos! Will be interesting to see how it travels when you get your hands on it full time. I do appreciate the detailed feedback based off your test ride.
It can't be easy being patient waiting until June for a new toy!
I believe some "road side assistance" plans in NZ extend to eBikes i.e. if you need to transport your bike from the scene of the "breakdown" to the nearest LBS of your choice, they will have an appropriate vehicle to make it happen. I don't have any plans like this but if I got a Dutch eCargo...
Keen to hear if people have got their own Pinion R&M and what the experience has been like?
I had a look at my LBS and they only seem to have Vario/Rohloff/Deraillieur options still

I use the ABUS 6000A for my SC2 everywhere I go and it’s excellent.
Folding, audible alarm when interfered with, works great for me:

Agreed on all the above.
My 2x Vario on SC2/MC Mixte have not failed but are under-geared for an eBike in my view.
That said, the complaints around Rohloff are not necessarily much better!
