    OMG Am I losing it?

I feel your pain (literally) two back surgeries with a total of 10 fused vertebrae. At 70 years old, it's really hard getting my leg over my cruiser. Not ready for a step through yet...

I have to admit - I almost backed out of buying an ebike after joining EBR - glad I didn't

Hang in there Casual Rider, there are also those who don't approve of us that build our own bike, bash hub drives, and the loudest ones are the "throttle police". Like you, I belong to a number of forums and have other interests, hot rods, boating, guitar, and harmonica forums. You will find...

Help Me Find Some Suitable Training Wheels For This?

Having taught my kids to ride, the best place I have found, was a big grassy lawn. She should probably learn to pedal a regular bicycle first, then graduate to an ebike...

    A "doh" moment...

So I'm out for a ride the kids to the local beach, dared them both to swim out to a piling about 100' from the beach (only about 4' deep)for $5. No takers, and yes, I'm that kind of dad. Call it karma, on the way home I have a blowout on my front wheel. No problem I think, I have a spare tube, a...

    Friday fun - ebike/houseboat combo

Sorry, but that's about the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time! Any decent boat wake or waves would swamp it. I doubt if you could legally drive it on the road, and it would require registration as a boat. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should! I know of which I speak, as an avid...

Some folks just have to comment every time throttles are mentioned. I wouldn't be able to ride without mine... 10 fused vertebrae in my back and arthritic knees, is not going to stop me. Just can't pedal very far...

Here is what I am thinking about putting together...and yes I am new

My battery and rack came as a unit. The battery slides into the rack and locks with a key. Having recently had a second back surgery, I am fortunate that the island we live on has miles of paved trails, and is basically flat... we plan on doing a lot of recreational riding this year We do not...

Here is what I am thinking about putting together...and yes I am new

Thanks Taco Mac, I used a Voilamart 48v 1000w front hub kit, with a 48v 1000w 12ah battery and rack on the rear (weight distribution is good- albeit a little high...). Originally I built it on a Raleigh Sc7 that I inherited from my dad, then my wife gave me a Retrospec Chatham beach cruiser for...

Here is what I am thinking about putting together...and yes I am new

My direct drive hub will haul my 230lbs from a dead stop to 28-30mph in 8-10 seconds... Not having ridden other ebikes, it seems pretty good to me. This is coming from an old biker.
