The combination of DCA and Diclofenac 25 or 50 mg plus Omeprazole 20 mg should be used as a first-line measure to overcome DCA-resistance in tumors. More research is needed to better understand this phenomenon and determine the most optimal anticancer protocol for each patient.

DCA for the prevention of cancer.

The anticancer effects of DCA were discovered in the 20th century. The doses used in the research on humans ranged from 4-10 g per day, while the doses used to prevent side effects were much smaller at 0.1-0.3 g per day.

While DCA is most effective when it is used as a single agent treatment against cancer, it could be beneficial for preventing a second primary cancer or metastasis in people who have already undergone surgery for cancer treatment. DCA can be used as a single agent against cancer and reduce the risk of cancer recurrence, or at least alleviate the abnormal cell growth commonly seen in people with cancer. Additionally, DCA should be used as an adjunct to chemotherapy before surgery because chemotherapy alone may not fully relieve the pain caused by advanced disease. All patients who undergo surgery for cancers other than non-melanoma skin cancer should receive a pre-surgery chemo-prevention regimen with DCA, especially those undergoing liver or kidney transplantation.

Prophylaxis with DCA: 0.1-0.3 g per day during the first two to four weeks after surgery may help prevent cancer metastasis and recurrence. After 4 weeks, the dose can be adjusted based on DCA's effectiveness and toxicity to reach an effective weekly dose of 0.5-2 g per week. Improvement in physical well-being caused by the diminution in cancer pain allows for a better quality of life, which could reduce or nullify the need for pain killers or sleeping pills and improve mood, social interactions and well-being.
