    Road Dust Problem

You make a very good point regarding the chain. But I’d like to know your thoughts regarding other components such as the motor and gears - and whether these take strain (and work less smoothly) off a sticky grime filled chain?

    Road Dust Problem

So; apart from the hot wax solution (which probably lasts longer)… had anybody here tried the WD40 Specialist Dry Lube - sprayed onto a clean chain? The so called theory about this option is that: • Dust won’t stick to your chain, and will even just blow off. • And it will entirely rinse off...

    Road Dust Problem

You have understood the problem exactly. And these are good suggestions. However because I move from one great cycle area to another along long dusty roads, it means a lot of work (and I’m a bit leery of removing the chain each time but perhaps I’ll have to learn how. It would be so great if I...

    Road Dust Problem

Yes - that’s it. And in my case it’s not the deep sand that matters but the fine airborne dust billowing up from behind a vehicle. And when kind of dust meets water or oil it turns into sticky clay like sludge (very bad for my drivetrain)

    Road Dust Problem

So you are saying that you still need to wash the bike down each time? I don’t mind washing my bike after several rides but don’t want to have to wash it down before I ride because it’s been in a dust-bath on the back of my vehicle. No amount of riding in the dirt can compare with the coating of...

    Road Dust Problem

Thanks - but I’m not sure I understand the procedure… it seems complicated but I can’t visualise it. Are you saying that you remove the chain each time?

    Road Dust Problem

Thanks - but I’m not talking dirty from cycling, I’m saying that the chain and cassette are THICKLY covered in dirt that chokes up all the working parts.

    Road Dust Problem

Hello everyone, I need to travel over dusty dirt roads to get to the best places for mnt bike cycling, which invariably means that when I arrive at my destination the ebike’s drivetrain is thickly covered with dust, meaning I have to wash and wipe it down everywhere 🙈 Has anyone found a...

Opening the battery compartment on the Cannondale Monterra 3

No No, the issue wasn’t grit or misalignment. The cover is just a VERY ‘snug’ fit. And even looks as though it’s a sealed unit - absolutely no give or gaps anywhere. I suppose this is what keeps water and (the majority) of dust away from the battery. I used a rubber mallet and a wooden dowel to...

Opening the battery compartment on the Cannondale Monterra 3

Actually, th No, I don’t think Bosch designed the battery compartment cover, which is part of the frame and Bosch didn’t design the frame. The cover was likely designed so that it’s cannot easily open could fall off on a bumpy track

Opening the battery compartment on the Cannondale Monterra 3

Thank you for your reply I tried these suggestions but the cover is super tight and there is no possibility of pushing it inwards. Eventually I used a rubber mallet to tap the lever down. It’s not something that I’ll do often
