Been a Clydesdale mountain-biker since I moved up from BMX bikes as a kid, now in my early 50's. Due to hilly and mountainous terrain here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Charlottesville, Virginia, I began experimenting with ELECTRIC BIKES after watching a bazillion reviews and videos on YouTube. My first eBike was a Fuji Sanibel eBike Cruiser with a Bafang 250w rear hub. I bought it discounted when Performance was closing their store here. I wanted to see if a battery-powered bike could survive my Clydesdale weight. To my surprise, and excitement, it did AMAZINGLY WELL! Hills no longer kicked my arse.
Now I just purchased a demo/used Trek POLICE eBike with the Bosch Performance 28mph motor and upgraded components! The POLICE bike is basically a Powerfly MTB with performance upgrades by Trek. So far, loving it! This will likely be the bike that meets all my needs!
