Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

I'm shrinking lol. I'm actually 5'10" with pretty standard legs and arms. This L Cervelo fits me very well. I was surprised how man shoppes wanted to put me on a M, and on other brands a 54 with similar geometry. I am soooooooo glad there were models I could test ride. Found out I needed a bit...

Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

Cervelo Rouvida road version size = Large. I'm 70 years old about 5'9". Medium was a bit cramped. I'll try and take a pic next week.

Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

I ended up buying the Cervelo Rouvida road version with the Fazua Ride60 mid-motor. I test rode the Trek with aluminum frame and hub motor, but for me the mid-motor Fazua felt superior. Those were the only 2 I could test ride locally. No one had the Scott, Orbea, or BMC in stock. I would have...

Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

Not all road geometry bikes are "flat back posture". Many allow a more upright position. My Indy Fab Crown Jewel allows me to ride more upright. The eBikes I looked at from Trek, BMC, Orbea, Cervelo, and Scott cater to an upright position. Like, the Cervlo is advertised as getting the ride of...

Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

I'm slow I'm old. Who said I'm a powerful heard down racer? That was me 50 years ago. Not any more. If I was a powerful head down racer why would I buy an electric bike?

Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

The gravel version is on sale a lot of places now for $3,999. I might have purchased that model had there been one available locally to test ride, That, plus not sure how that component group compares to the road version with Rival and Red, though. I've always preferred SRAM (and Campy) to Shimano.

Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

A lotta brand motors mentioned in this thread, but most/ many must be on bikes other than the make/models I looked at: road bikes that look like road bikes from Cervelo/Trek/Scott/BMC/Orbea. Most of what I looked at were mid-motor Fazua or hub Mahle motors. I rode both and ended up purchasing...

Test Rode Cervelo Rouvida Road vs Trek Domane+ AL 5 Today. My Analysis

Stefan: on the Scott website they say this about the Mahle X20: Motor Hub drive 55Nm max Torque / EU: 25kmh / US: 20mph Mahle Motor Hub drive 55Nm max Torque, up to 407Wh Doesn't say comparable at all. I interpret max torque to mean the motor is capable of 55nM. Period. Nothing is said about...

Test Rode Cervelo Rouvida Road vs Trek Domane+ AL 5 Today. My Analysis

I stewed over these bikes all day yesterday until I went to bed, then woke up Googling and studying their geometries again. I just could not talk myself into the Medium Cervelo. Even though Reach was about same as Trek, the Stack is way shorter. Which is why, when I got on the Trek, it felt so...

Test Rode Cervelo Rouvida Road vs Trek Domane+ AL 5 Today. My Analysis

I read the opposite on most posts from experts. Watts mean nothing they can be fudged. Torque is what you should rely on.

Test Rode Cervelo Rouvida Road vs Trek Domane+ AL 5 Today. My Analysis

I am in market for an electric road bike to help me keep pace with my 90 pound demon-cyclist-uber-fit sister, who is also 6 years younger than me. Well, maybe I'm exaggerating her capabilities, but I'm 70 she's 64 and she has been able to ride 2,000 miles a year the last few years. Plus I had a...

Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

I've been close to pulling trigger on a new road-oriented eBike several times, but then I plunge into reviews of the motors and it scares me away from a purchase. The road bikes I look at are $2,999 Scott Addict to the $5,000 Cervelo Rouvida (yes I have found one in my size at that price). In...
