2026 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Back on my trusty 17 year old Giant CRS 1.0 Hybrid while I wait for my new e bike, my legs coped well but my hands were aching due to the flat bars and completely different grips from my Giant e bike! I thought about a 50 miler but I was hurting...it was my first ride on the Hybrid for well over...

Yes its getting mudguards and a rack, no need for lights though as I don't ride in the dark and have rechargeable lights to be seen that work very well! Yes I look forward to riding it and letting you all know how it performs, 8.5 years since my last new bike so it will be good to start anew...

Thanks Jeremy, the bike is full carbon so I don't think I will need to go down the 3 battery route this time! I opted for a range extender at the moment so will have 750wh at my disposal which should easily cover my 100 milers, I will probably go for a second battery next summer for my 150 mile...

After another day of browsing and frying my brain I decided to just go ahead and order the bike, I decided against the bling candy red and opted for the gloss black! 2 reasons, the black will be less attractive to the thieves and its £199 cheaper...I'm a tight ass Scot! 🤣 Now the long wait...

Interesting Dave, strange how only the 2024 version is available on the UK site! Dave linked the Canadian site which has the Yamaha motor!

Range extenders are almost as expensive as the original batteries and very low wattage, I prefer to have another battery due to the long distances I ride!

It definitely has a removable battery and good point regarding the test ride, they are around 200 miles away so its doable!

Thanks for your input Stefan, I have no desire to ride on gravel and Polini are far from unknown with 10 years in the e bike motor industry! My only sticking point as you have mentioned is the lack of a UK presence and that is why I haven't already ordered! However I have been doing a lot of...

Remember this was over 8.5 years so I think you are doing pretty well! I honestly think the motor is toast, I've never heard noises like it before! That Land Cruiser was insane, they tried everything to stop it working but failed! 🤣 I'm thinking about treating myself and forking out on a new...

They repaired my motor in 2021 Dave, I have emailed them and awaiting a reply but thank you! I'm hoping they might have a motor as I doubt mine is repairable...

Cheers Dave, unsure at the moment but I think given I have 3 good batteries a replacement motor or 2nd hand bike of the same model would be my best bet! I know right, bloody useless they are... 🤣 Thanks Jeremy, would you believe around 3.2 million ft? how the heck did it last so long? 😂 See...

I think we have all heard the saying "all good things come to an end" and yesterday it finally happened after 48758 miles...my syncdrive pro motor suffered a catastrophic failure! I got lucky though as it happened less than a mile from home after riding 69 miles! My pedals just suddenly locked...
