Former 2 time downhill mountain bike champion, hence the bling bike! ;) The speeds those guys do on those extremely rough downhill tracks is insane, I've done over 50mph on my e bike on smooth roads but doing that on rough tracks takes balls of steel...🤣

The storm passed without incident yesterday, it was still pretty wild today and the forecast was showing rain showers pretty much all day! In the afternoon I spotted a clearing in the weather and decided to go for it, I had to think carefully about my route as the wind was still very gusty at...

100% certain I won't, the winds around here will be around 60mph and that's inland! I think even @Chargeride won't venture out in this one...but he isn't human so... 🤣 The big danger at this time of year is trees being in full bloom, I think it will be carnage in exposed areas!

Inverness is over 80 miles north of Glencoe, worth visiting also though!

I would recommend Glencoe, I did it many times on my motorbike and it was incredible and I'm sure it would be just as enjoyable in a car! The whole area is amazing, you have Fort William and Oban close by and they are worth a visit for sure!

The last day of the month and I hadn't posted a century ride yet so with perfect cycling weather I put it right today! I hadn't ridden to Loch Katrine since April last year and with a NW wind blowing I would have a 15-20mph headwind pretty much all the way, a gruelling 54 miles! I started with...

Another blustery day but much nicer than Friday, with a 25mph wind from WSW and a perfect temp of 16C! I made my way down the back roads to Allanton where I joined the main A71 for a few miles before taking the back road to Climpy, a big climb up past the Blacklaw Wind Farm! After passing...

A blustery overcast day but I was determined to get a longer ride done, despite the threat of rain also! I did get lucky though and managed to stay dry for 56 miles, my plan was to head over the Forth Bridge again and when I got home I discovered the bridge had been closed because of Greenpeace...

This morning I was at the hospital with my sister to get her results after a recent mastectomy and we got the best news possible, they got all the cancer and she will only need to take hormone pills for 5 years so no chemo or radiotherapy which is a massive relief! She was diagnosed on the same...

A bit of a bonus ride today as I wasn't expecting to get out due to a very dodgy looking forecast, with possible thunderstorms! When I got up the sky looked like it might be ok for a ride so I decided to chance it and set off just before 9am into the murk! It was pretty much windless and a bit...

Thanks guys, I'm sure a massive company like Giant don't give a hoot about an old guy riding one of their bikes past 40000 miles...🤣

40000 miles of pure pleasure! After 8 days off the bike I was itching to get out again and thankfully I had more time on my hands today so a longer ride was in order! I set off at 8.15am and immediately had issues with closed roads and it was my back roads so I was forced to use the main roads...

I hope they weren't called Rab H....it may have circumnavigated the planet twice already!;) Congrats on the new steed, remember its carbon so no river crossings or it might melt...😂

I'm on carer duties for a few weeks as I'm looking after my sister after a recent operation but I managed to get a ride in this morning, a local hilly one so I got a good workout! It was a blustery but mild morning, with a westerly wind around 25mph so I took advantage of the wind on the way out...
