I test rode the Specialized Turbo Vado yesterday. They were out of stock of the 4.0 but had a 5.0 and I was told it would give a good enough feel for the bike. The motor is very quiet and smooth. The Specialized is a fine bike, but my personal preference was for the Trek.

@Marci jo Thanks! Sorry I should have been more specific, I prefer to sit more forward than upright or back. The Haibike is mostly upright but is slightly more forward than the Trek. Sitting upright isn't a deal breaker though since I understand that it helps with visibility.

I test rode the Trek Allant+ 7S in "Matte Quicksilver" today. I liked it. Smooth and stable ride, fast motor and nice color/styling. One downside: the seat posture was more upright than I prefer, but I'm guessing that's how all commuter bikes will sit.
