Nailed It! New Tires for Gazelle

Doing some more research I found this and am leaning to Mr Tuffy for additional protection. https://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/specials/puncture-resistant-tire-liners

Nailed It! New Tires for Gazelle

Thanks. Tannus is what I remembered and couldn't think of today. And this bike is over 3 years now and the first flat. Outside of adjusting the belt after I got the bike I haven't done any maintenance on it which was a shocker with the gear hub and a different front axle than I was used to.

Nailed It! New Tires for Gazelle

Time for new tires. I have about 6K miles on the stock tires and yesterday I got a nail so why not now? Most of the miles are on the road commuting but on weekends I like to ride rail trails. Mostly hardpack or maybe "gravel" but nothing technical. The stock Schwalbes were fine except the...

Where do you keep your bike?

At work I have a nice spot under the stairs with an exit door right there I can access. Unfortunately we are downsizing and will lose that side of the building in a few weeks.

Where do you keep your bike?

wow that is awesome. In my house it is 2.5 bikes per person (2 people, 2 electrics, 2 folders, and my wife still keeps her older bike)

Where do you keep your bike?

Bike shed I built (before it was finished being painted and trimmed). Room for 2 bikes for easy access. Rolls out on wheels and has power for charging.

Specialized Vado 4 vs Gazelle Ultimate 380+ (long)

No I didn't like the electric shifter. I went with the Gazelle and very happy with it.

    Gazelle Ultimate C380 HMB

That's what is great about LBS. I got my Vado 4 for $500 off as it came back in a week with about 10 miles on it. They guy decided he wanted an XL.

Specialized Vado 4 vs Gazelle Ultimate 380+ (long)

"dehermetize" -- I like that word. Thanks, I will check.

    Gazelle Ultimate C380 HMB

In general the E bikes are heavy and maybe the smaller frame is easier to control? Or the stance? I find the generally have an in between stance. Not hunched over like a racer and not full upright for a city bike. Do you have a preference there? I agree with Base that adjustments can make...

Specialized Vado 4 vs Gazelle Ultimate 380+ (long)

So over 5000 miles now and I still love the bike! No additional maintenance besides checking the tire pressure. Brakes are still solid but not as precise as new. Maybe it is time for a bleed? I have wanted to change the tires but I was too cheap to change out perfectly good tires. Now I...

Picking an eBike: Gazelle Vs. Specialized

thanks! I think it is really dumb to have to leave the key in while riding. For work and most rides I don't need to lock it and when I go downtown I don't leave it out of my sight for more than a few minutes with a simple cable lock.

Picking an eBike: Gazelle Vs. Specialized

The Gazelle might be a little more upright than the Vado 4 as I recall but not a full upright. For me it is about perfect. And there is always a little adjustment with the saddle position and stem height to play with. For every day commuting at 10-20 MPH it is a little out of the wind than full...
