Lifelong bike rider. Got into e-bikes three years ago for commuting. I'm on my second ebike. My biggest interest is advocating the use of e-bikes for transportation, shopping, and pulling cargo trailers.
My biggest gripe is cold weather effects on batteries, since I ride bicycles year around, but have to stop using my e-bike when temperatures get below 25F. We can dress for cold weather, but even with foam covers the batteries do not work at very cold temperature.
There are technologies available for heating batteries internally, as used in electric cars, but I do not know if they are applicable to small installations.
