So far I'm averaging about 40-45 minutes averaging around 20mph. Should go up as my fitness level goes up and I can hold those higher speeds for longer/get up to speed faster.
Hey Johnny, I have a bit more data now that I've done the commute a few more times (starting this week I'm at 4 days a week, 2 days using the train and 2 days going the full 14 miles).
So far, my average MPH is trending upwards. I'm starting to hover around 20mph for the whole trip. If I hit...
I ended up with the Bulls Urban EVO. Did a test ride to and from work today and averaged 16.9mph going there (55mins w/stops) and 19mph going back (45mins w/stops). My fiancé and I have another car so we use that for everything else other than me commuting and going for rides.
So this is my first trial run for my commute. My avg. speed would have been higher but I was pacing behind another biker for about half of the main straightaway and he was going about 18-20. I also made a friend towards the end and we paced around 18 for a couple miles and shot the s*it for a...
Hello! Been a while. I ended up going with a Bulls Urban Evo, picked it up yesterday and its fantastic! Good build quality and it gets me up to the speeds I want with very little effort. It was on sale for $3,199.99 so I got it for just under $3,500 after taxes. So while I spend an extra...
Will do, I have a few practice routes to take that are 6 miles and 12 miles so I can dial in the bike before I start commuting in it. Also have a 50 mile all day ride that I want to do with my fiancé (once I get her an ebike as well, might even build her one) that has a few stops at some beer...
Ended up test riding the regular urban evo yesterday. Fell in love immediately. Very comfortable bike and the speed/torque is fantastic. Way more peppier than the Specialized Vado I test road last week. I put my deposit down and I’ll be paying for the rest of it once my car is officially sold...
Hey Amazer!
Thanks for the reply!
I'm actually going to be test riding a couple of other Bulls bikes this weekend. Specifically the Urban Evo (2019 Model) and the Urban Evo 10 Diamond (2020 Model). The regular Urban Evo has some suspension in the front which could be nice but isn't necessary...
Yeah I test rode a specialized Vado 4.0. Felt incredible! The Shimano Deore feels amazing and I went up not one but two incredibly steep hills without breaking a sweat. I was also able to get it to about 24-25 on flat quickly and without a lot of effort. The shop has it on sale for $3500 and...
Currently shopping for my first electric bike for commuting to work and I found a Bulls Grinder Evo for sale at a local shop for $3,499 in my size.
Would it be a good fit for a 12 mile flat commute?
Thanks,
MegaHighDon
I'll be testing out both the Vado 4.0 and the Vado 4.0 SL this afternoon. I tested the Bulls Grinder Evo yesterday but wasn't a huge fan of the handlebars and the riding position.
I really wish someone offered a competitor to Juiced in terms of speed and battery. I really like the idea of...
I might try it again but I'm going to a different shop today to take a look at Specialized Vado 4.0 and the SL version. I really like the SL I just don't know if its going to have enough range. Its also going to require much more effort in order for me to get up to the speeds I want due to the...
It seemed just a tad bit too big. Possibly just due to the seat position which I didn't adjust. I didn't really get to bring it up to 25mph just because I was limited by the location of the store. Lots of stop signs and blind intersections so I didn't want to risk it. I'm also SUPER novice when...
I did list the Bulls Grinder Evo on my list of potentials. One of the local shops near me has it on sale for $3,500 right now.
I test rode it yesterday and it feels a little weird with the drop down bars. I've never had a drop down bar bike before so I don't know how I'll like it for a 12-14...
