    Radmini rear wheel rattle

Michelle, thanks for the idea of checking the rear rack. It's hard to tell exactly where the sound is coming from since it only occurs under load. Simply fixing the rack sounds a lot better than other alternatives.

Anyone put a bigger chainring on their Rover?

Greg. Thanks for that info. I'll check and see what I use in PAS1. I know it isn't much. I tried setting the wheel size from 20 (correct size) to 18 and noticed a difference in pedaling effort. That is, using PAS 3 and wheel size 20 I was pedaling with no resistance, but PAS 3 and wheel...

Anyone put a bigger chainring on their Rover?

Greg, I talked to Joe at Rad support and he said that all Rad bikes have the same programming. He indicated that his Rover has the same issue and that a larger chainring, e.g. 46T would make some difference, but Rad does not have any specific product recommendations -- he said check on...

    Radmini rear wheel rattle

I talked to Joe at Rad support concerning the rattle in the rear wheel. He said make sure everything is tight and if it is then email a video with the sound it makes and they will see if it is normal or perhaps a safety consideration.

Anyone put a bigger chainring on their Rover?

I also have a new Radmini, which I really like, but unless I'm going up a steep hill I don't have much pedal resistance beyond PAS 1. I.e. PAS 1 is hard work, but PAS 2 is a quantum leap up in power assist, leaving me basically doing nothing even in gear 7. I am also looking into a larger...

    Radmini rear wheel rattle

No I have not. If I just owned one, I might think it is normal, but one is much quieter than the other. I tried "pinging" all the spokes and they seemed all the same, but loose spokes is considered a possible cause, however tightening them all to some specification seems a bit daunting. The...

Power Assist 5 and steep hills

I often go over 500W -- for short periods of time, e.g. up a short, steep hill. No ill effects in 300+ miles.

    RadMini & Trail Riding

I have a Radmini and generally carry camera equipment with me. As MikeDD says, it handles off-road well, just don't go too fast. Also, make sure everything is strapped down to handle vibrations and big bumps. Since the mini does not have suspension, consider getting a suspension seat...

    The JA Thumb throttle attachment

I highly recommend the thumb throttle! It took about 3 rides to find just the right placement for me. It is very easy to adjust, comfortable and stays in place.

    Radmini rear wheel rattle

A friend and I have Radminis. When starting using electric power, or at low speeds, mine is almost silent, while their's makes a rattling, vibrating noise that emanates from the motor. When the back wheel is lifted and throttle applied, the rattling sound is much less than when sitting on...
