When my controller died it was during the late summer, it was not hot but just nice t-shirt weather.

Almost every ride I do includes at least one steep hill and when my controller burned out I was on holidays riding 4-6 hours a day on almost continuous steep hills (and I weigh 180lbs)

Easy, some of the bullet connectors were tough to separate (overheated?) but most of the connectors were of the plastic snap together type

I took my controller apart and it looks like I would just have to replace this capacitor to make it work again. Lectric did send me a new one so I'm back riding again but it might be fun to see if I could fix the old one.

I think my controller just gave up the ghost after 3000kms. The power started temporarily cutting out under load and then the throttle came on by itself and wouldn't shut off even when I unplugged the throttle cable, luckily the brake cutoffs still worked so I could finish my ride. I also...

I bought my bike on July 1st 2019 and received it at the end of Sept '19. My friend Darceman bought his around the same time and has even more kms and he has had no controller issues either but he does not climb as many hills as I have to. (if that makes any difference?)

I live in a hilly area and as of 2800kms I have had no problems with my controller, maybe the problem is with newer batches?

I have a simpler way that works great for the "non-mechanical" people that still want to power a phone or light or whatever. Just buy one of those mini bike frame bags with two side pouches and a top pouch for your phone and slide a power bank into one of the side pouches. Not as fun as tweaking...

You must have gotten a lemon as I am the same weight and mine will go loose enough to make it feel like the bike is breaking in half!
