    EG Athens

We have a very steep hill by our house. The bike handles it very well. It will go up the hill on it's own power, but it's good to pedal along while going up a hill. My wife really likes the bike. She says it has everything she needs. The range on the bike is very good when using pedal...

    EG Athens

Alan, my friend, I would just go buy it. The key thing is really not a big deal. It's an annoyance at best. My wife and I took our e-bikes on a mild off road trail in Door County a couple of weekends ago. Her Athens handled the trail like a champ. You will not regret buying the Athens. I...

    Genesis R 2015

I really like this new design. It looks like Proecotech is staying true to their roots as they make improvements. Nice bike!

EG Athens 250 and child trailer/child seat

My wife is in love with her EG Athens. Like you said - you are willing to help pedal up the hills. As long as you go into this thinking the bike is going to assist you and not the other way around you will be fine. The EG is a very solid bike for the price point. The pedal assist works very...

    ProdecoTech Pedal Assist, Torque Sensor

Sorry for the late reply. Hurley, your idea worked wonders. Thanks.

    ProdecoTech Pedal Assist, Torque Sensor

I have noticed a slight annoying problem with my Beam TS Torque sensor. The wheel on the sensor that the chain runs over makes a loud squeak sound when I pedal. This doesn't affect performance, and the sensor still works great. Does anybody have an idea of how to get rid of this? Maybe a...

    EG is alive?

In my opinion the best thing you can do when you are new to E-Bikes is watch a bunch of Court's reviews on Youtube. Then, figure out your desired budget, and go to a shop and ride a bunch of bikes.

    EG is alive?

I haven't had to yet, but if I do I'll take my bikes to Crazy Lenny's E-Bikes in Madison. I live about 45 minutes from them. I do try to handle routine maintenance on my own though.

    ProdecoTech Pedal Assist, Torque Sensor

Mine is set up to give max output right away. I like that, but others might not. The sensor can be mounted a few different ways to dial in the right feel. The only draw back is there are no levels of assist. It's a set it and forget it type of a thing.

    EG is alive?

I bought my wife the EG Athens, and she loves it. It has the older style 250 Watt motor, but it's a great bike. I'm sure EG's new models will be a similar bang for the buck. It just so happens I bought both of my bikes from Crazy Lenny's E-Bikes. Great people to do business with!

    ProdecoTech Pedal Assist, Torque Sensor

I might not have been clear. The torque sensor might make it legal because you can legally go faster than 20 MPH with pedal assist. The bike is still capable of going 28 MPH on throttle only, which is illegal. The torque sensor won't limit speed. The controller takes care of that. So...

    ProdecoTech Pedal Assist, Torque Sensor

Good point AZ. 20 MPH is max on throttle only, so installing the torque sensor will allow the bike to be considered pedal assist. I don't know if pedal assist speed is limited in any way, but I think it would be fine. The Outlaw SS has a 750 watt motor right? I think that's max for USA...

    ProdecoTech Pedal Assist, Torque Sensor

I have my bike back home now. Rich from Crazy Lenny's E-Bikes did the install. I can't say enough good things about these guys, but I'll make this post about the torque sensor. Some people might appreciate my thoughts rolled into two words: Buy this! For those that want a bit more detail...
