Evelo Omega vs Zen Photon Pro for next E Bike

I just measured my Photon and right at about 6” difference with no adjustments. The fit right out of the gate is just about perfect for me.

Zen Photon Pro contact points mods?

Well, Brooks has a lot of fans, one I’ll likely try at some point. The next one in the testing queue is being brought tomorrow by my bike shop guy: https://ismseat.com/performance-recreation/pr-3-0/ I actually just got a different set of Raceface pedals delivered today, selected to try for...

Zen Photon Pro contact points mods?

I trolled around on the forum looking for posts/info/feedback on those OneUp composite pedals, the comments generally positive. I have a large shoe size (13), one of the reasons the OneUp caught my eye given the larger than average platform size. Well, I found a post with comparison of the...

Worth the wait, Hydra is here.

Oneup offers a “friendly pin” kit that works on both sizes of their composite pedals: https://www.oneupcomponents.com/products/small-composite-pedal-friendly-pin-kit I’m thinking even the OEM pins on the composites are going to be leg shredders, just maybe not as bad as some pins? I got a...

I came across something interesting to reduce sharpness/shredding on those grub screw thread pins: https://www.oneupcomponents.com/products/small-composite-pedal-friendly-pin-kit No clue if these would work on pedals beyond the pedals OneUp makes them for...

Zen Photon Pro contact points mods?

I found PAS 1 to give enough boost that was a little easier than pedaling my non-electrics. Level 2 made it feel like I could ride for hours, and I’m old and just recently back to bike riding. On a recent maybe 1.5 hour ride, the battery level was barely dented, charging back up in literally a...

Have not done anything yet beyond turn on and toggle between 0/1/2 assist level. It would have been nice had they included an owners manual… Apparently, it’s available to download—just asked my dealer a moment ago to see if it was included on an email to him. Saw this on another thread:

That’s a saddle brand I’ve not happened upon so far—looks a lot like several I did see in some other lines investigated. You moved in the “hot rod” more aggressive riding position direction. The Photon feels about right for an upright relaxed position. I’ve been trying to do the exact...

Good point, and THINK I did that, but with the Enviolo it’s not as precise on what gear you are in as on a bike with discrete gears. A better way to display the current gear setting on the Enviolo would have been nice. I’m still trying to get accustomed to the Enviolo. The jury is out...

Well, that makes me feel better—thought getting gouged by pedals was rare and meant you really screwed up. The gouges are not what bothered me, the real concern was that I came as close as it gets to going down in the process. What am I missing here on Zen’s choice of using one of the...

    Zen Photon Pro- Preorder | 1040Wh UL Certified battery | 500W nominal/900W peak power Torque-sensing motor w/ Throttle | USD 2999 | CAD 3999

I normally don’t reply to my own posts, but do want to say my concern over frame size being too small for my height is not a problem. Another poster made a comment that the bike seemed big, something that I thought too when it arrived. The bike actually fits me pretty good right out of the...

Zen Photon Pro contact points mods?

Yeah, I’m still getting accustomed to the nuances of electric. I’m still a little gun shy after almost biting the dust when getting tangled up in those long sharp pedal pins on my maiden voyage as mentioned in my initial post. Made me a little wary of the dangers that lurk with electric...

I’m all ears when someone does the conversion. I too have mixed feelings on the manual version, but just recently got my Photon, so too soon to draw any conclusions. The Automatiq sure seems like the way to go to me, though.

Maybe try these Ergon GC1 grips to save your wrists discomfort? https://www.ergonbike.com/en/product-details.html?anr=42410010&s=gc&a=griffe I have or will shortly have Ergon grips on all my bikes. They have a larger support pad area than the OEM ones on the Photon. I had hand numbness and...
