    Luup-X bike? Or an alternative?

Yes, I remember reading about cheap carbon fiber frames years ago. Mass produced, poor quality, fibers not lined up properly... not pretty. I run 2.8 Eddy Current tires front and rear on my hardtail. Not the fastest rolling tires out there, but they are durable, absorb a lot of impacts, and...

    Luup-X bike? Or an alternative?

I am curious what other folks here think about this bike: Luup X bike On paper, it looks good. Battery near 1400 Wh, FS, up to 1000 W motor, mid drive, carbon fiber, and so on. In theory, it could be a game changer for my forestry road and singletrack explorations. But I am also a bit...

when will prices come down out of the stratosphere?

I know I'm chiming in a bit late on this, but some of the brands are really bringing down the price tags. Giant and Liv have the Fathom and Vall+E for just over $3K (Canadian, so about what, $12 U.S.? -;) Raleigh and IZip are really kicking the big guys in the shins with their bikes. Bosch...

Pedego Trail Tracker vs Voltbike Yukon 500W Limited

I would happily buy one, but the 750 W motor puts it into the class of motor vehicle here in BC, Canada. That means I would have to license and insure it, which seems like too much hassle to me. Thank you for the suggestion - it looks pretty nice. And it has a suspension fork, for not too much...

Pedego City Commuter 26" or 28" wheels

Larger wheels will get you over bumps a little bit easier. Larger wheels take more energy to accelerate. Probably not an issue with an e-bike, though.

    Pedego vs. The World

If money were no object, I would happily buy a Pedego (either the fat tire model, or the mountain bike). However, if money is an issue, then I would probably look elsewhere. Don't get me wrong - I loved the feel of both the Pedego models I tested. However, is that feel worth another $2,000+...

    Getting rads of attention

Good for you for being an ambassador for the future. I wanted to ask how you like the RadRover, but I'm not sure this is the proper part of the forum to do so.

    Locks

I have used a variety of locks over the years, and I'd run with a really good Kryptonite style U-bolt lock, with a chain like the Mastiff to secure the wheels. Heavy as hell for hauling around with you, but you could always leave the lock and chain on a rack near where you work or go to school...

    This is the bike...

You mean there are other companies out there making and selling these things? Sorry, just looked up "high speed electric bikes", and saw a number of them that look very similar.

    lol! Too true!

    This is the bike...

There was one thing on the video I watched that made me laugh a bit - something about how you could pedal up until 80 kph, before there would be no point in doing so. I think that would get a few looks. Although I couldn't see that being very safe - if someone's foot slipped of a pedal at that...

    This is the bike...

...that makes me cringe, when I think in terms of e-bikes being allowed access to trails. http://www.sunahmebikes.com/specs-1 Sunahme bikes, manufactured and sold in Ladysmith, BC. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for electric powered vehicles. But to call this a bicycle is rather misleading. It...

    Hello from Vancouver Island

I'd be riding around town, which is quite hilly, and on some trails. Or, hopefully on some trails - not sure on the legality of that at the moment. I'm keeping it on the up and up - 500 watt motor and top 20 mph speed limit, as per the laws here in BC.

Pedego Trail Tracker vs Voltbike Yukon 500W Limited

Trying to decide between the Trail Tracker and the Yukon 500. They both appear to have the same concept - 500 W motor, 4" wide tires, rigid frame. The Trail Tracker looks more attractive and solidly built. It's battery is incorporated into the downtube, so it is more sleek looking. Big...
