What's Needs to be Done if E-bike Kept In a Cold Garage?

I remember back in the day when men were men and sheep were nervous and we sat on a steel seat with a thin layer of vinyl or leather covering it. The good old days when there were a dozen different sayings that meant the same thing as "F off" in todays less civilized society. Go pound sand...

    shock absorbing seat posts

Yup. I like the good old days of "mushy" rides. Like when everyone was using a 75 series car or truck tire, like a 205/75/14 or a 235-75-15, so when the roads decayed to "crappy" status you could hit those potholes and bumps and not dislocate a tie rod or ball joint or clamp your butt cheeks. My...

    shock absorbing seat posts

I just measured my three newest OEM bike posts. The 20" folding Unusual bike has a 32mm post. The 20" folding Likebike ebike is 28.6mm and the 26" Funhang ebike is 28.6mm. Might be the Made in China bikes have slightly different seat/saddle post diameters? I do see some options for a 28.6mm but...

So, the NCX delivers a good spanking while you ride? Hmmm...... 🙃

P.S. I waited almost two months for a Cloud-9 seat from Amazon and then they canceled my order. Damn it all to hell!!!! I found a less expensive but still well designed "Bikeroo" seat that should fit the bill. So, take that "A"m-"hole"-zon"! (Emphasis on the A-hole). 🤪

So, a $9.95 recoiling seat/saddle post isn't as good as a $129.95 seat post? Shiver-me-timbers! Ha! Okay, lots of good ideas. I had some dickhead steal my anodized red aluminum seat post and new softer faux leather seat from the bike rack in high school during the summer months. So, when I got...

I recently replaced my 26" cruiser seat/saddle with something wider with a thicker cushion and recoil springs. I've seen some seat posts that are on some ebikes with some sort of recoil mechanism integrated into the post. Anyone using one of these seat post and do they actually work?

    Welcome to the 21st century!!!

All things considered, all bikes are disposable. The price of a new battery can cost nearly as much as or half as much as an entire bicycle. So, I kind of figure I could run my entry level bikes until they die and then just buy a whole new bike. I have seen replacement batteries for a lot of...

    Likebike "Sunny" nebula class starship

I "folded" my Likebike Sunny today and put it in the back of my truck (to get it out of the way) so I can do some TLC work on the truck inside the garage. Be careful with the cables and tension on the cables when folding it. Let me tell you, it does fold but OMG is it nothing like folding my old...

    Road Dust Problem

I'll just keep it old school. #1. The CNC machined Park chain wear gauge for my bicycles. And #2. A yard stick to measure "shrinkage". 😉

    Road Dust Problem

Ah-Ha! There's a tool for that. I should have guessed that someone would have introduced science into bicycle chains. I wonder if there's a tool that can measure shrinkage? You know like after I've been in the pool? It shrinks, like a frightened turtle. Ha-Ha!

What's Needs to be Done if E-bike Kept In a Cold Garage?

A pot of hot water? Isn't that the solution for everything in life? Like in the good old days when the doctor would say "boil some water" when he was going to deliver a baby or work on Matt Dillon to dig a bullet out of him. Har-har-hardy-har-har! (As Jackie Gleason used to say in "The...

What's Needs to be Done if E-bike Kept In a Cold Garage?

Good info. I don't treat my cordless power tool batteries with TLC but I don't recharge them outside in the cold, either. I think I heard that the Tesla or other electric cars use some of their energy to maintain temperature in the cold which seems logical in very cold regions. We all know that...

    Likebike "Sunny" nebula class starship

Steel frame for sure. It is hefty, tail heavy. As heavy as my 26" Funhang. It feels like an electromagnetic drive but I have not looked for an accurate exploded view of the motor to see if there are any gears inside the housing.
