Carbon fork swap, Civante - Wabash - Urban Rush

I have a couple of hundred miles on it and no issues. I also put on Carbon Aero handlebars and a Carbon Seat Post. All bought from China.

Carbon fork swap, Civante - Wabash - Urban Rush

It won't damage it to ride it. I rode my bike for 2 years before swapping in a carbon fork. I got my fork from China in less than 10 days. I took my bike to a bike shop and they tried everything to fix the cracking but were unable to do so.

Need to choose hub compatible with Civante speed sensor

Why do you want to change wheels? They work fine and are a little heavy but it is an ebike. There are other things that you can do to lighten the bike if thats what you are after. I put a carbon fork on mine along with carbon handlebars and carbon seat post. I put a lighter and better 11-26...

Carbon fork swap, Civante - Wabash - Urban Rush

I love my new carbon fork. The annoying cracking sound is gone. The bike rides a smidge smoother and the fork is about 450 grams lighter than the original, so it saves 1 pound in weight. I have dropped 4 to 5 pounds on the bike through various upgrades of carbon parts, lighter chain and...

Carbon fork swap, Civante - Wabash - Urban Rush

My Civante is at the bike shop now getting the fork swapped out. I can't wait. It should also drop the weight of the bike by at least 1 or 2 pounds which is a bonus. I will report back once I have it out for a ride in a few weeks as it snowed yesterday and we expect snow all week after having...

Carbon fork swap, Civante - Wabash - Urban Rush

Thanks Greeny! I already bought the crown race adapter and the same fork. I found it for $75. I have cut steerer tubes before but I will leave mine long as I really needed a straight bar handlebar due to neck issues but I bought an adjustable stem and a drop handlebar that has a 5cm rise. I...

Carbon fork swap, Civante - Wabash - Urban Rush

This is great news. Did you have to do any mods for the disk brakes? And what about the front wheel? Were you able to use the same wheel and hub? Much thanks, Larry

    Civante Upgrades

Greeny, did you use the Cane Creek 110 series Alloy 47/30 1 1/4 to 1 1/8 adaptor? And what carbon fork did you use? Thanks for the help. Larry

    Civante Upgrades

The creaking is a known issue. It is a defect in the design. I do not believe that you can just replace the fork with a non Civante fork. I would have done that long ago. If you find a fork that works, let us know.

    Upgrade a new bike?

The jist of the article was that slick tires tend to be faster because of greater contact with the gravel road. I have no reason to not believe him.

    Upgrade a new bike?

I am just repeating what the article and the pro rider who is winning with slick tires said and apparently other pro gravel racers are following suit.. I have no experience riding on gravel.

    Upgrade a new bike?

I just read an article a few days ago about gravel tires. The top pro gravel racer uses smooth tires for racing on gravel and others are following suit. The theory is that there is greater contact between the gravel and the tire with a slick tire. Makes sense, no?

Recommend me a cassette, chain and derailleur for my Aventon ebike

I don't expect any derailleur to hold up for 20 year with lots of miles. I would expect a current Alivio derailleur to hold up for more than 5 years with regular shifting. Just don't abuse it and cross shift. The Alivio's are not that flimsy IMHO. And, it is way better than a Tourney or...

    Upgrade a new bike?

I need to ride more upright because I had a cervical fusion and have another disk in my neck that is herniated. I do not want to ride an upright bike. I am 64 and have been riding road bikes since I was thirteen and have worked as a mechanic in a bike shop when I was a teenager. My first real...
