What happens when your Ebike you ordered on the Internet breaks?

As someone whose bike on the internet broke, I started learning how to repair things, and we're talking like extremely basic things like tighten screws. I continue to maintain that whoever figures out reasonably priced, quick, and widespread customer service for ebikes will be the long-term...

motor quits upon initial throttle twist

Thank you very much. You are right. I realized that the brakes, when engaged, kill power to the motor so the throttle doesn't work. That's a good safety feature. But the malfunction light is on (75% of the time) even when the brakes are not being engaged at all. So I can ride the bike but...

motor quits upon initial throttle twist

Well, I've got a stumper for you guys. Using LCD 861, with a 750 W gearless rear hub MXUS motor, basic tektro hydraulic brakes. I see this "Power brake handle" malfunction light come on. This warning light sometimes turns off. What does this mean and does it have anything to do with throttle...

motor quits upon initial throttle twist

Hi did you figure out what is wrong? I have a different brand bike but the symptoms are the same. I can not tell if this throttle not always activating issue is a feature that can be controlled by a settings change or a flaw with the controller.

How to turn off the power when the key is not in the battery, so the bike can not be ridden away, at least electrically

Hi, my ebike can be ridden off by anyone whenever the battery is inserted. You just turn on the LCD and away you go. The battery itself is a reention dorado battery, and that's where I insert my key. I for some reason expected this to operate more like a traditional vehicle, where if the key...

An Ebike that is as easy to pedal (when power is off) as a regular bike

Well that’s not bad at all. I can live with this amount of resistance.

An Ebike that is as easy to pedal (when power is off) as a regular bike

Thanks everyone. Question about which motor kit is known to be easy to pedal. Is it the bbs02 and bbshd easy to pedal. I see these motors mentioned all the time but am unsure if they are easy to pedal. I had a used old Giant that was essentially not pedal-able without battery. It was horribly...

An Ebike that is as easy to pedal (when power is off) as a regular bike

Hello, How can I tell from the specs if an ebike will be easy to pedal when used as an acoustic bike? I gather: only consider mid drive motors? Are different motor manufacturers known for having less gear resistance when turned off? I'm particularly interested in a commuter mountain bike...

What happens when your Ebike you ordered on the Internet breaks?

I see the ebike market in the big picture as a race to the bottom much like smartphones. You can get a really good one for peanuts these days. Few people repair smartphones these days, even Apple products which last longer. Laptops, same thing. Battery and screen broken? $300 please. New phone...

Ebike makers: winners and losers in 5-7 years?

Wondering how the market will shake out in the medium term future. I notice that carmakers are relatively few. A bunch of big names that everyone knows. Start up costs are too high and complicated but what about ebike makers? There are so many companies out there who are basically ordering 100...

Help me cobble together my own Voltbike Bravo from China

Thank you all. I am in Taiwan. Can of worms, but Alibaba will ship here. It's not China for Alibaba purposes. Trust me when I say that Giant and Merida are the only reliable games in town for ebikes. 6 times as expensive. The imported ebikes are identical to what is on Alibaba and I know for...

Help me cobble together my own Voltbike Bravo from China

Thanks, so a Bafang motor is not likely to be more reliable than the MXUS?

Help me cobble together my own Voltbike Bravo from China

What I mean is that replacing brakes or derailleurs or tires or other regular mechanical bike parts will not be a problem here. But troubleshooting the controller or the lcd or the motor will be harder. These are the electric parts. I will be on my own if they fail. So I want these parts to be...

Help me cobble together my own Voltbike Bravo from China

Thanks what about the Bafang motor upgrade for $95? They said the MXUS brand is 15–20 years old and is exported to Europe and New Zealand and other places. They claim it’s a solid brand, what most customers get, and the bafang is mostly a brand name effect rather than actually being higher...
