    Bosch Display water intrusion.

Tom, did you add the red, front, chain guard on the crank? My Cannondale came with a plastic one which I had to replace in the first month. The chain rode up over it and ruined it. I have a red, anodized aluminum one like yours now that I ordered from England. It's never given me a problem.

    Bosch Display water intrusion.

Sounds like even if the worst happens and it fails because of moisture intrusion, I'm not out much if I can buy a new one for $120. Guess I wo'nt worry about it any more. Final question: Because of the fogged up display I have always assumed that the Bosch motor should never be exposed to...

    Bosch Display water intrusion.

The only thing is that I'm affraid to ride it in the rain. My bike is the only one with the problem. We've never let them get rained on because of it. It's good to know they are supposed to have some water resistance. Not much I can do about it now but carry a plastic bag to cover it when...

    Bosch Display water intrusion.

I don't see a model number but it is of of a Canondale Contro-E with a Bosch system. I don't see any cracks or damage to the controller and it has never been dropped. The water intrusion was from my first ride home on the bike. We typically don't ride in the rain but in western Washington...

    Bosch Display water intrusion.

My wife and I piurchased a pair of Canondale Contro-E bikes four years ago and for the most part they have been great. The only thing that has irritated me is that we rode them home in the rain the day we purchased them. Ever since then the Bosch control unit on my bike has had a slight...

    A Road-Cyclist Thoughts On E-Bikes

I'm 73 and my wife is 68 we have both been riding road bikes since we were teenagers. We have both done long distance, cross country rides and ride locally when ever the weather permits. A couple of years ago we thought eBikes would be kind of cool so we purchased a couple of Cannondales...

    Di2 for e-bikes? Really?

Yes, you buy your chain has to match your gear count. More gears, narrower chain. Not sure if it is weaker but it certainly is narrower to accommodate more gears.

Pro -vs- 75 Year Old eBiker

I love chasing ebikers on my carbon bike.

    What are your riding techniques?

(73 here). I'm all over the board. Some times I want the thrill of speed and power and set it at maximum assist for the whole ride. Other times I'll want to maximize my distance and keep it on the lowest setting, and still other times I'll swithch through the settings, depending on the...

Don't take your hands off the handlebars of your ebike !

Never thought of riding no hands on my ebike until now. Guess I'll have to give it a try.

    Passing on the right

If there is no bike lane and you're not sure of your local ordinances, do so at your own risk. Cars aren't expecting things to pass them on the right at a red light. I had a couple of cyclists mad at me because I nearly colided with one of them in my car. There was no bike lane and they were...

"I'm Riding in the Rain, Just Riding in the Rain..."

The very first day we purchased our bikes, we rode them home in the rain about seven miles. The next day I noticed the inside of my display was foggy. That was the last time I ever rode it in the rain. My bike Canondale and has the Bosch display and motor.

Pro -vs- 75 Year Old eBiker

My wife and I did something similar: We had just purchased our ebikes and were taking them out for a spin when we encountered three very serious road cyclists, out for a club ride. We were in casual clothes while they were suited up in spandex. As we aproached from behind my instinctual male...

Aliexpress, you son of a ...!

If you only need a few extra links you might check with your local bike shop. They probably keep a few around from fitting new chains. I know I would if I ran a bike shop. You never know when you are going to come up short. Easy enough to add on with an inexpensive chain tool.

Are you forgoing a test ride when shopping for ebikes these days?

My wife and I were very excited about the look and build of a particular ebike and were certain was the one for us. Fortunately we were able to test ride it at a local bike shop. We found quickly that it wasn't the bike for us. We aren't new to biking either. We both ride mountain bikes and...
