One of the cheap air compressors I purchased in the Spring started sucking air out of the tires, instead of inflating. I used it with good results all summer, so I won't feel cheated if I have to toss it. (I paid more for the case than the pump itself). Has anyone experienced this with an...
I did a group ride on my Current over Labor Day weekend, and was impressed with the Serial 1 Harley-Davidson one guy was riding. Nice looking bike with belt drive and the Enviolo "Automatiq" I believe. I did not ride it myself, but he was very happy with it, so worth tossing into the...
A friend asked for affordable e-bike suggestions for his teenage grand daughter. He expressed concern about battery fires which is hard to dismiss with a glib "don't-worry-about-it", so I recommended he look at the Lectric Xpress with UL certification, as opposed to a no-name Amazon or Walmart...
I learned that the hard way, although the damage to my bike was relatively minor. Still, I replaced my clamp style unit with a 1Up Super Duty Double rack. (Double doo-doo as my 8 year old grand kid would say).
Inasmuch as the design of the 1Up is straightforward I did go around a learning curve...
For those shopping for one of these air pumps, I'd suggest not overthinking the purchase. This inexpensive gizmo saved the day for me over the weekend. I suffered a flat 16 miles out on a rail trail, but fortunately keep this thing in my saddle bag at all times now for just such an emergency...
I don't live there but I've spent enough time in that area to say that Austin has nothing on Long Island. It's pretty much an aggressive, congested, road rage free-for-all, so your point is well taken.
As the market becomes increasingly dominated by muscle e-bikes with nominal mainly-for-show...
"P.S. That would be Long Beach, NY". An old college friend forwarded a screenshot of the article. The city council's new policy is mingled with very reasonable intentions and forgivable ignorance, given the industry's failure to police itself. I've commented in the past that law enforcement...
I have not been so lucky. First time the rack dropped was a lesson learned about tightening the knob. No harm done. I monitored the knob and noticed it did not stay locked in place after a bit of travel even without a bike onboard. The next time the rack dropped was on the interstate at...
I don't know if it's Cowboy or Lazyboy on my part, but I use a metal cone filter without a paper filter which dilutes the taste. I buy decent beans from a local roaster, who is a young lady entrepreneur at the weekend farmers market nearby. (I can be a cheapskate in some respects, but Folgers...
I think "single with an add on" is the way to go. I wish I configured mine that way. (I bought the double but only transport two bikes about 10-20 percent of the time).
My only real complaint about the rack is that the gold knob does not stay securely locked closed. Presumably, it loosens...
I would not worry too much at all about the display. It's a minor annoyance and it doesn't move very much. I also tend to ride on rougher roads and gravel so my riding locations are conducive to a lot of shake, rattle and roll. The front light, on the other hand, does drive me a little nuts...
I've put about 2k miles on mine, and haven't experienced that sensation, but did have a wobble very early on with my Evelo Omega bike. It was the headset in that case, as Keith suggested. I blame the mechanic that assembled the bike. That would be me.
The Current is a very natural feeling...
Hmm...I've had no issue with wobble under any conditions, but I do notice the extra back weight of the auxiliary battery when it's attached. I'd still rather have it on for longer rides or the times I simply do not want to think about PAS/range. My PAS default is 2 on flat pavement, but 3 on...
