    Crosscore rc rear rim/ speedometer

I used my lathe to modify the hub on a DT Swiss hub. The groove width and location are exactly the same as the Yamaha, but I didn’t go as deep because the tabs that fit into the groove do not require it to be that deep. I used an “emergency collet” to hold the flange without damaging it, but a...

Thanks. Her bike is a Gazelle, mine is a Yamaha CrossCore RC. They really come alive when you make a few upgrades, (the tires and saddle are often the first thing). The wheel and tire upgrade saved more than three pounds and greatly improved the ride quality. Stripping the bike down...

I always loved riding into Woodstock on route 106. I generally begin in Brownsville and ride the dirt roads to 106. Charles Bronson had his horse farm in Brownsville, (technically, West Windsor), and his gravesite has a great view of My. Ascutney. That day was hot and hazy, but still a nice view.

My first 50k ride since my slow return to cycling, (September 4th, my 70th birthday). Lots of gravel and climbing. Bright blue sky, a bit windy and the temperature in the 70’s. Some of my favorite places along the way and a picture is of my wife’s new Gazelle Ultimate T10 Plus, stripped down...

    Ebike helmet

A class 3 ebike is faster than most when climbing and on the flats, but most danger is while descending, and many traditional road cyclists reach speeds well over 40 mph. Good brakes, a good handling bike and good skills help to keep you safe, and of course a good helmet is vital, but a class 3...

    Need Saddle Advice!

The longer that you are in the saddle, the less that you should sink into it. A soft saddle will make your but ache on anything but a short ride. Measure your sit bones and buy an appropriately sized, semi-firm saddle. A lot of saddle soreness is due to chafing or the pulling of hair...

    E-Bike Suggestion

It seems that you are looking for an e-moped, e-motorcycle or e-scooter. There is nothing wrong with that and it is preferable to something with a fossil fuel burning engine, but you might have greater success if you change the subject of your search.

    Creo 2 Dork Disc Removal

I only remove them from a ebike if I have the cassette off already. That small amount of rotational mass is close to the center of rotation and is virtually undetectable.

I only rode it unsupported. It was more to test my fitness and increase my endurance. That was many years ago and before a life changing motorcycle accident. At this point, I am just glad to be riding at all.

Thanks. The white wouldn’t have been my first choice, but I have grown to like it.

That is a tough climb. Extremely steep and has no recovery. I found coming down to be uncomfortable, even on the hoods. I never raced on it. We are actually about 1/3 of the way up between Massachusetts and Canada, (mile marker 52).

One of the roads less followed here in rural New Hampshire. The mountain in the background is Mt. Ascutney. It was a perfect day for a ride. The new mount is a real pleasure.

Yamaha CrossCore RC Modifications so that I can ride again

Thank you Dave. Is this the place?

    CrossCore RC modifications

I bought a slightly used RC and changed the fork to a Suntour MobiE25. It is about 2 pounds lighter than the stock fork, has an air spring and adjustable rebound damping. Geometry is unchanged from stock and Suntour has it on clearance. My total cost was just over $300. I also chances the...
