Finally back on the road again.
Great day, reasonably warm at 14C. Back on the regular full finger gloves, 2 layers of long sleeve and the vest but didn't need the heat.
Canadian pride in the middle of nowhere...
Was expecting some flooding after recent rains, but nada!
Tide is waaaaaay...
Presta valves are over 100 years old. Sure, they are a good design, and relatively simple. But to suggest there's no room or need for improvement on a 100 year old device makes no sense to me. Ebike? Who needs it! ABS in your car? Bollocks! Electronic shifting? Bah Humbug! VOIP instead of copper...
I can understand that.
That said, I do not have a huge fleet of bicycles, I just have one. And if this innovation works, life will be slightly less of a PITA.
:D
I am not immune to progress.
I dislike having to reach for tools just to inflate my tires every week.
If they suck I'll say it. If they're an improvement I'll say it.
Nobody is forcing anyone to try something new.
I am curious, and if it's a fail, well then we all learned something.
Sorry, not...
I just bought a set a couple of hours ago!
They're coming from EU, but will report back as soon as I've fitted them and tested my floor pump and Fumpa.
Can't wait!
Same here. I decided to try them because about 50% of the time I have to use a tool to loosen the Presta valve top. I never over-tighten them, I just do it finger tight.
That said they are often way too tight or stuck to loosen by hand.
They're coming by snail mail, but will report back after...
