    Anyone good at math?

No, that will give me the price in euros per gallon. I'm trying to find the one factor that will give me the equivalent cost in dollars per gallon. In other words, do both the currency exchange AND change of units with just one factor.

To return to our moutons... Gasoline is about €2 per litre. A euro is $1.15 today, so $2.30 per litre. 3.78 liters to a US gallon. So $2.30 x 3.78 = $8.69 per gallon. So with these figures, what do I multiply together to have a single figure by which I can figure out the $ per gal cost? (I...

"Then our teacher relented and asked,.. "Is there any other mistakes?" " Ummm, that should be "Are there any other mistakes?" But my mama was an English professor 😄. Jeremy, it is interesting that you see a lack of interest in STEM, whereas, coming from the social sciences and liberal arts, I...

    Anyone good at math?

Funny thing is, I got straight A's in algebra and geometry in high school, simply by doing my homework, and I credit it for my ability to think logically, but I didn't like it. A few years later I thought I'd get one of my distribution credits over with by taking Math 105 or whatever the lowest...

    Anyone good at math?

So now that I have a factor for quickly figuring €/kg ->$/lb, how do I do €/liter ->$/US gallon?

    Anyone good at math?

Now how would I do that backwards? Say I'm looking at peaches in the US for 4.50/lb. How do I get the rough per kg euro price? Double it I guess, yes?

    Anyone good at math?

OK, so if I multiply any per kilo euro price by .517, then I should get the dollar price per pound (presuming the exchange is 1.14 per euro)? So if I wanted to not worry about a few pennies this way or that, I could say multiply by .5? (or divide in half, obviously). Is this correct? So if I...

    Anyone good at math?

OK, I'm trying to figure out what one factor I can multiply a price given in euros per kg to arrive at the US dollar price per pound. Not doing the exchange and weight translation separately, but one factor I can multiply, say, €3.95 by to get the dollar cost per pound. Let's say for example the...

You think that's funny?? Jesus. Charge, you clearly don't live in a country awash with guns, drive-by and school shootings.

Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

Is it law, or a marketing decision by corporations? I just finished reading Inshittification by Cory Doctorow. I had no idea how in cahoots major tech corporations are, and how they rig the systems by which we access the internet and communications.
