    2021 Orbea Gain m20i computer/bicycle synchronization

To find out your firmware version, you need to have registered your bike with Mahle/Ebikemotion through the Ebikemotion app. If you've done so, go to ebikemotion.com in a web browser and log in. Click on "myebikes" and you will open a page listing Ebikemotion Battery/Controller/iWOC and the...

    2021 Orbea Gain m20i computer/bicycle synchronization

Yes, I did look at the Wilier site. I have firmware version iM2EM101 which is subject to all the issues I have faced. I will contact a local dealer about an upgrade to v. iM2EM121 which apparently solves the problems. Hopefully, with the info about specific firmware version I was able to get...

    2021 Orbea Gain m20i computer/bicycle synchronization

Thanks for the firmware tip. I've had my Gain since January, and my problems with the Pulsar One persist. The solutions that I thought worked before, including the one you suggested, sometimes work, sometimes not. Often, the Pulsar will work at the beginning of a ride and then fail to change...

    2021 Orbea Gain m20i computer/bicycle synchronization

Yes, I've had the problem described by StevenC56, and others, some of which I've described above. The issues appear randomly, and I've never been able to correlate them with anything that I've done (or not done) such as the order of turning on or off the computer or bike first. At this point...

    2021 Orbea Gain m20i computer/bicycle synchronization

An update on my original post about synchronization issues between the Pulsar One display and the Iwoc One control button on the bicycle. It's not as simple as the order in which the Pulsar and Iwoc button on the bike are turned one. I recently completed a ride and finished at power level...

    2021 Orbea Gain m20i computer/bicycle synchronization

I got a 2021 Orbea Gain M20i about three weeks ago and love the bike. I had to deal with two issues, which I solved, and am posting my experience in the hope thatches will help others. This thread is about a synchronization issue of the handlebar-mounted, Mahle Pulsar One computer display, new...

    Giant 2020 Explore E+ Lowest Gear/Derailleur failure

Good question. There is some clearance when the b-screw is fully out, but less than I am comfortable with, given the b screw setting on my other bikes. I'm guessing that this close clearance may be what accounts for the difficulty shifting onto the 36T cog.

    Giant 2020 Explore E+ Lowest Gear/Derailleur failure

No, neither the cassette nor chainring was damaged. I'm very familiar with proper derailleur adjustment. I have three road bikes, all of which I've built up from the frame and routinely change components, including derailleurs, in addition to a Giant Road E+ and a Kona mountain bike. My road...

    Giant 2020 Explore E+ Lowest Gear/Derailleur failure

I've had a 2020 Giant Explore E+ 4 GTS for a year now. It has a Deore rear derailleur and a 11-36T cassette. Riding on the road, I tend to use the 6 or so highest gears with no shifting problems at all. I also go on mountain trails and have encountered serious shifting problems. Typically...

2018 Giant Road E Servicing message

I have a 2018 Giant Road E which I've ridden since May, putting 1200 miles on the odometer. Yesterday, when returning from a ride, I noticed a small "wrench" icon on the screen. Today, when I powered up, the icon was gone, but after riding 0.1 miles, the screen blanked out and the message...

Giant Road E+ review and questions

Thanks for the advice, Kristjan. I haven't used the walk mode yet and will give it a try, though I don't think it's appropriate for the issues I find troublesome; things like going over a curb, or up the several steps to our front door, or maneuvering the bike with one hand if carrying...

Giant Road E+ review and questions

Many thanks for the feedback, JRA. This is what I assumed was happening with the shifting due the torque added by the motor. As we both learned, the "problem" is easily solved by adapting one's pedaling technique. I would have thought Giant (and other vendors, if this is a problem with all...

Giant Road E+ review and questions

Since 1982 I have been riding Campy Record/Shimano DuraAce-equipped road bikes - Pinarello SL, DeRosa SLX, Litespeed Classic, Colnago MasterLight. All are quick, light and a joy to ride, and the workmanship of the frames and components are impeccable. Life was good until a few years ago when...
