I think they were $400 usd for front and back. Well worth it...especially since it's my work bike and everything related to it is a write off! :)
Super powerful. If I didn't haul a massively heavy trailer the stock brakes would've been good for the first year or so.
Just upgraded the brakes to dual piston hydro Shimano Zee's with Ice Tech rotors. 203mm front, 180 rear. Amazing results, even with a 3 hundred pound trailer on my 6!
All I can say is it's easily 10 times the stopping power as the stocks. With the stock brakes I was literally billowing smoke...
Hi Joaquin! I take the key out of my battery at the "lock" position but run a Kryptonite 7 foot long cable through the handle as a secondary theft deterrent. That same cable I run through the bottom of my seat (which has a little handle under the rear of it), through both front and rear tires...
I'd recommend getting the biggest most intimidating lock possible as well as running a cable through your wheels, seat, and battery. I have 18mm thick Forgetaboutit U-lock. It weighs a ton but well worth it. I've seen motor cyclists even use it for their motorcycles!
Sure. I'm interested in upgrading to a higher Ah battery than originally came on my Voltbike Mariner (10.4 Ah). I asked George of Voltbike how much Ah can the controller handle and he said 15Ah. He does not recommend going over 15Ah.
Wow, so true for the most part! I'm both a driver and a cyclist so I appreciate both points of view. There are definitely some cyclists that think they own the road (stops signs and red lights mean nothing). The same can be said for drivers. One important factor though, is that drivers are...
I've found a partial solution to add protection to the wires and controller. Here I've cut of the tail end of a fat tire rear fender I had on another bike. I looks pretty clean and blends in well.
Hello!
It's been a week now with my Mariner. Love it to death! Having so much fun and feeling like a kid again.
I too noticed this hole. I was thinking of just some good ol duck tape across it. What are you planning on doing as a solution?
I really appreciate the full coverage fenders that...
So we did some testing a the steepest hill in downtown Montreal. Hear are a couple videos showing how much pulling torque it has and a bonus video blowing donuts on some ice ha ha
I've been towing this 300 +- pound homemade trailer for my business with my single speed (geared 46 x 18) for 6 months last year. No hills ha ha! I decided to go with an ebike to extend my range and to tackle some of the hills in my service area.
I just purchased the Voltbike Mariner and will...
I can't speak for ebike use because I only got my first ebike yesterday! However, I would very highly recommend the Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires. I ride 700c x 40 Plus and then change them out for a wheel-set that has 700c x 40 Marathon Winter tires. I've yet to experience a flat in an entire...
