Hitch bike rack - Gazelle Ultimate C8/C380

Anyone tried the costco rack? Price is good, reviews are good. 2" receiver. I was leaning toward this one since it holds the bike frame and I didn't think a wheel clamp would work with the fenders. But it sounds like the Thule and Kuat wheel clamps don't interfere with the fenders.

Battery safety education - Only you can prevent battery fires!

The Aventon instructions say the battery takes 4-5 hours to charge. Do not leave the battery unattended. So they expect you to stand there for five hours and watch?!?

    Assembly question

Just got a Level2 for my wife. Pretty straightforward to assemble. One question: Do we need to do anything to the chain? Like grease? Or is that pre-done? Instructions don't say anything about it. But the instructions do say they are just a guideline and consult a professional...

First Time Buyer with Decision Paralysis

I just decided to go with the Gazelle Ultimate T10+. Gazelle doesn't seem like they will be going anywhere soon, they make solid bikes, and with their current sale, I upped my budget. They are also made with standard parts, so I'm hoping service will be easy enough to come by. But definitely...

2023 models are up on the Gazelle US website

Yes, I have the Purion. What do you mean by "system 2 bikes"?

2023 models are up on the Gazelle US website

I just got an Ultimate T10+. Didn't realize it was a 2022 model. Any idea if the Kiox can be added in place of the controller I got? Is it swappable? I see Gazelle lists four controllers on their site, but no information about what ones are options on which bikes.

    E-Bikes On Legal, Paved Trails

Are there really frowns for the kind of bike you have? I would expect general disapproval of rude and unsafe riding regardless of what kind of bike the person has. But I'm an optimist...

    Class 2 Bike Suggestions - $2000 to $4000 Range

Saw a Cannondale Adventure Neo AllRoad today at the shop. Thumb throttle. Looks promising.

    Class 2 Bike Suggestions - $2000 to $4000 Range

Was hoping to see other model options. I'm finding it really hard to look through models, as the class level is not often specified. Sometimes maximum assist speed is, but not that often either. Does a mid-drive motor automatically mean no throttle?

concerns with ebikes laws and ways to improve them

Back to the OP's concern, I think we all agree bikes (motorized or not) should not be sharing sidewalks with pedestrians. It isn't legal in my city and shouldn't be legal in others (potentially with an age cutoff). I don't have a problem with an age cutoff for riding an e-bike either. Or...

    new CA bike laws

How is this not already a law??!? From an enforcement perspective on class 3, how can you tell a class1 bike from class3 by looking?

Smart e-Bike - looking for a connected bike

FWIW, guy at Van Moof in San Francisco said they have been bought and new owner is working on licensing 3rd party shops to service the bikes, something that seems obvious. Their security includes finding your stolen bike! Which I imagine would work great in San Francisco, but if you lived in...

    Service needs and availability

I didn't see this in the search. My wife and I are in our 50s and looking to get 2 e-bikes to do more riding. We're also see retirement on the horizon. We are in the San Francisco Bay Area, so lots of shop options, but we also can see moving away in 2 or 3 years. The bikes we are considering...
