First e-bike for a 68 year old - buying help needed

I agree you will likely want a step thru and a larger battery. However also consider relative bike weight that you may need to handle. For that reason I dont like heavy fat tire bikes. Lighter bikes are often able to take you farther as long as battery is large enough. Any bike over 60 lbs is...

    Soltera.2

I heard from a bike shop that sells Aventon that they understand Aventon may be coming out with a newer version of the Soltera that will include a step thru. I wanted a step thru Soltera.2 but they had none in stock.

    Sport model by Espin discontinued

My brother bought a Velotric Discovery1. I think it is similar to my Espin Sport but somewhat beefier and somewhat heavier frame. Price good $ 1100-1200. Hydraulic brakes, 5 levels of power, cadence, throttle, suspension fork, decent battery and range, came with fenders, rack, etc. Comes in...

    New Portola Folding Bike

If I wanted a folding bike with 20 inch wheels I would get an Lectric 3.0. We have 4 e bikes and the Ride1up is the worst. Uncomfortable, smaller battery and range, chain keeps falling off despite trying several solutions including adding a chain guide. Their customer service also seems lackluster,.

Thanks. In my area REI and mobile bike service will work on e bikes. Although I have not had much need for service. Just adjustments and checks.

My family has 5 e bikes all cadence sensor less than $1500. We like them. My relative lives in another state, is tall and wants to try a step through e bike. He has a non e bike. He has issues with his feet. We does not want a bike that will require a lot of foot pressure to pedal but wants an e...

Budget E-Bike list of Full Suspension, Integrated Batteries 900-2000$

Aventon e bikes come in smaller sizes, Lectric e bikes would also fit. There are others. My daughter has an Lectric. They have good customer service and parts availability as does Aventon. Some bike shops sell Aventon. Both have hydrolic fork suspension, good brakes. Perhaps read some reviews on...

First e bike Step Thru Tall person

A relative is choosing his first e bike. He found a new local e bike store with a variety of brands, including Aventon, Ride1 up, Velotric, etc. He wants to spend no more than $1500. Wants a cadence sensor, with gears, full size non fat tire e bike. His area is mostly flat with no appreciable...
