Ben in Tuscon
I'm employed as a radio announcer by Arizona Public Media, the NPR affiliate at the University of Arizona. In private life, one of my main interests is sustainable transportation and renewable energy. I'm the secretary of the Tucson Electric Vehicle Association - or TEVA - which is a chapter of the Electric Auto Association. I manage TEVA's web site and help coordinate public events for the club. Financial constraints currently prevent me from owning an electric car, but my association with TEVA has allowed me the good fortune to live with most of the newer commercially-available EVs for weeks at a time.
While the main emphasis with TEVA is electric cars, some of us in the club are also interested in eBikes. I have a nice single speed (non-electric) bike that I commute to work with every day and I enjoy doing my own work to maintain and upgrade it. I'm particularly interested in the Copenhagen Wheel, Fly-Kly and what is hoped will be an increasing number of similar all-in-one wheel options that allow relatively quick back-and-forth conversion between a standard bike and an electric one
