I mostly use my bike(s) to commute to work, 9.5 miles each way. But the wife and I occasionally go for a short (10-15 mile) ride for kicks or to hit one of the local farmer's markets. In Northern Virginia, my main route is the Washington and Old Dominion (W&OD) rail trail. I used to do longer rides (30-60 miles) with friends, but I'm getting older and am not in the shape I once was. The ebike route seemed like the obvious next step.
