    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

Point taken, thanks. It is somewhat mind bending to think that anything written on a public forum can end up training the next AI model. Hopefully that results in a higher level of care (but I doubt it). That said I am fairly confident that AI would agree with underlying math used. Its just...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

I wish! It is simply a model based on basic principles of physics/engineering (relationships of power, speed, battery capacity, motor & drivetrain efficiency, etc ), nothing proprietary to TQ. Not intended to be a highly accurate (to many variables to model) but close enough to illustrate the...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

On the forums you see a wide variation in reported battery range. I built a simple engineering spreadsheet to better understand why. While elevation gain and rider weight has some impact the biggest impact comes from motor settings (% Assist, Max Power). Its not rocket science. The higher the...

The following table might be of interest for those considering which TQ Motor best fits their riding style. Its easy to focus on maximum motor watts/torque but forget that there is a min rider input to achieve those values. For example if 150W is all your old legs are able to deliver then...

The TQ motor tuning settings can be somewhat confusing especially the relationship between max power setting, assist level setting and rider input required to achieve the max power setting. There are lots of ways to think about it, but the following is most understandable for me.

The buttons look great! They were out of stock on the Trek site or I would have gotten those instead. Looking at the button photo it appears they use a much smaller connector on the buttons...

Yes, one would hope that with the move to integrated bars and stems with internal routing that TQ would use a smaller molded connector. The one they are using appears bigger than is required for the job...

Purchased the VO3 control (31.8mm clamp) and mounted it below the left shifter on my BMC Amp. its out of the way, and allows me to change assist level while keeping my hands on the hoods. Not as nice as Di2 buttons built into each shifter but serves the purpose. Note that the cable that you...

I'd like to add a handlebar-mounted assist control remote to my 2023 BMC Road machine AMP X (TQ HPR50 system and V01 display). At first I was not switching assist levels much, but now that I have set assist levels way down (30W,60W,100W) I find myself switching levels more to adjust to...

No recorded data, just observation of power while riding which is imprecise at best. That said it appears to be a somewhat linear relationship between rider power and motor power until max motor power setting is reached.

I am new to this but from my observations so far it appears TQ motor power is somewhat linear until the max motor watts are hit for each mode. Rider power is the input variable while riding. Pm = min(A, B·Pr) where: A = max motor power cap B = support % Pr = rider power Pm = motor power...

I am not familiar with Fazua Ride 60, but from you description it sounds like it has different settings and how it manages assist. On my last ride I watched the power meter and most of the time I was putting in 150W, the motor contributed 0W-10% of the time, 30W-50% of the time, 60W-30% of the...

Had my BMC for a couple weeks and been playing around with motor settings. What seems to be working for my riding style and location follows. At these settings I can get +60miles of range with 3000-4000ft of climbing. Also suggest that TQ40 would be plenty for my type of riding. Curious to...
