I agree. I had 40mm Pathfinder TLRs (because the Sworks 42 mm pathfinders seem to be discontinued). Had really bad micropore sealant...

I wouldn't recommend that. Even if the tyre fit (especially the rear), you might lose any clearance for the mud and debris removal.

Rim width is also a factor for true tire cross section width. A 40mm on a wide rim may measure 45mm.
