Cardboard waste is not a problem if you grow enough trees to keep up. It degrades in the soil, good mulch for the garden probably. Before plastic they used to put some wax coating on it, for potato chips, bread and the like, just a smear that degraded too. The only reason industry uses so much plastic is because it's cheaper and the Shale Gas liquids, which is mostly ethene, have no other use and are very cheap. We're talking about the foundations of capitalism here, the rational profit maximizer and all that.

It is private profit now at a greater price for everyone in the future.
 
I find the that microplastics collecting in we brane tissue a positive left side affect.

The stuff in the overheating 7,000 tank in Garden Grove, OC, CA, is used to make some plastics. It is highly volatile and explosive. It is methyl methacrylate (MMA). Here is the evacuation zone.

Much more desirable to inhale your recommended daily allowance of plastic than to rely on ingesting as absorption rates vary widely. 🙃
 
I'm amazed that they are permitted to store toxic chemicals like that in a populated area.
50,000 people in the affected area. Looks like a possibility for a terrorist attack.

That is what I was thinking but didn't want to say out loud. I wonder how many of these targets are in populated areas. Are there 20 of these tanks in Northern New Jersey? Or two?
 
There are industrial facilities located all over Southern California, many with hazardous materials. People want to live close to where they work.
 
I'm on the verge of totally not giving a f*ck about anything anymore.
With the EPA and other agencies gutted and green everything shut down... and now talk of a billion for the ball room, a 1.5 billion for people who attacked police officers on Jan 20 and total immunity for the Hump family on any IRS investigations, not to mention another foreign war I'll be damned if I'm going to sacrifice, inconvenience or burden myself any further for the greater good.
If this is what the majority wants... Let this country rot in s*it.

it’s not the majority - it’s the combination of a very vocal and manipulative minority with a good subset of the easily manipulated. he and his gang of _________ are historically unpopular.

Count the sheep anyway you like.... it doesn't change a damn thing and I want no part of it.
This will take decades to correct.. and it's not a given that it will.
For sure now nothing will get better in my lifetime and I'm not only going to watch it burn, but I'm going to laugh like Nero on a blunt.
